The realisation of the web site www.euromedheritage.net follows a phase of considerable and thorough analysis of potential contents and available technology, in order to make this accessible and user-friendly for all visitors.
In particular, attention was given to organising the material in such a way that produces a very simple site map; this enables users to easily search for information and navigate the site, using it as an optimum work tool and an important source of information.
The WAI guidelines on accessibility, as given by the W3C Consortium, have been adhered to, taking note of users who do not have the latest technology. The whole site pays particular attention to the size of web pages and provides a fast search mechanism for anyone, regardless of the level of connection they are using. This is seen as fundamental issue in the development of a site, that must be accessible also in areas not connected to highly advanced technology.
The respect of WAI guidelines automatically allows information access to disabled people.
As the website is specifically related to cultural themes, the guidelines indicated in the "Handbook for quality in cultural Websites", published the EU Minerva network on the website www.minervaeurope.org have also been followed.
We will however, also be open to feedback from users to improve any parts of the site that they are not easily accessible.
