Filières Innovantes
Promotion of small producers of regional agri-food products and handicraftFilières Innovantes focuses on the textiles and traditional food products that often contribute to a sense of regional identity. After making an inventory of local know-how and picking out places where the tastiest foods are produced, 13 pilot projects have been launched throughout the Mediterranean offering training in best techniques of production and in marketing products to tourists and for export. The project aims to promote the production and marketing of traditional products by small producers, mainly food items but also textiles. In order to identify the centres most suitable for promotion and best practices in the Mediterranean basin, as well as to further develop local skills with training, an inventory of local knowledge has been carried out. The results are available in a computerised network of local knowledge in the Mediterranean. This network should enable an exchange of information, knowledge and experience between the groups of producers and the other players involved. All the activities mentioned will be organised in partnership in the scope of the Mediterranean region in its entirety.
